The work session meeting of the Village of Falconer Mayor and Board of Trustees was held on Monday, January 13, 2020 at 5:45 P.M. in the Community Building Board Room with Mayor James Jaroszynski presiding.

Joseph Taylor, 25 E. Falconer Street, Jason Sample of WRFA Radio and Jordan Patterson of the Post Journal were all in attendance to observe the proceedings.

Trustee Dunn made a motion, seconded by Trustee Steele, to approve the minutes of December 9, 2019 Board of Trustee Work Session as written. Roll: Dunn: Aye, Steele: Aye, Gustafson: Aye, and Jaroszynski: Aye. Nays: None. Carried.

Mayor Jaroszynski notified the board that Phil Ribaudo has chosen not to accept the write-in trustee position however, election law requires that the village waits 30 days (following January 1) before acting on a replacement. He went on to say that there have been a few interested parties ask about the position. If any others are interested, the mayor asked that they reach out to the him directly.

The board discussed potential signage in the cemetery. It was decided that no additional signage was necessary at this time.

The board reviewed the mayor’s tentative list of committee appointments. Some vacancies exist. Please have interested parties reach out to the clerk’s office.

Mayor Jaroszynski alerted the board to his intention to bring Walter Robert Morris up for board approval at tonight’s regular board meeting to fill the code officer vacancy. It was also noted that an updated list of elected Fire Department Line Officers will be put forth for approval by the board.

Mayor Jaroszynski updated the board regarding an initial meeting held between new elected Jamestown Mayor, Eddie Sundquist, Senator George Borrello, County Executive PJ Wendell, the IDA, Superintendent Penhollow, Town Supervisor McLaughlin, and himself regarding the Annexation of the Dow Street Sub-station by the Jamestown BPU. Another meeting will be scheduled. In the meantime, the process of the Annexation will progress to meet all required timelines.

Trustee Steele made a motion, seconded by Trustee Dunn to adjourn at 6:10 pm. Roll: Dunn: Aye, Steele: Aye, Gustafson: Aye, and Jaroszynski: Aye. Nays: None. Carried.
